The Ivy Spinningfields Brasserie
Craig’s Saturday in Manchester started with a bang at the prestigious restaurant, The Ivy. Known for its passion for seasonal, classic food and a devotion to service, The Ivy Collection lived up to its century-old legacy. Craig relished the Scottish Smoked Haddock and Salmon Fishcake, served with crushed garden peas, fresh herb sauce, and a perfectly poached free-range hen’s egg.
The Exchange Theatre
After a satisfying lunch, Craig headed to the Exchange Theatre for a unique theatre experience, watching the latest production of Charles Dickens’s “Great Expectations.” The theatre’s iconic 360-degree round stage, surrounded by the audience, offered a fresh perspective to every theatregoer.
King Street Kitchen
Josh celebrated the week’s end with a visit to Whalley’s newest gem, Bistro King Street Kitchen. Amidst a relaxed atmosphere, Josh savoured quality food and wine, indulging in French Onion Soup and Braised Salmon.
Whalley Day
Whalley Day brought joy to Josh’s weekend as he witnessed the village’s traditional duck race at Whalley Abbey. The whole village joined in the celebrations, with local shops, restaurants, and pubs adding to the festive atmosphere.
El Gato Negro Tapas
Angela and her daughter embarked on a culinary journey to El Gato Negro Tapas in Manchester. Alfresco pavement dining set the scene for Michelin Bib Gourmand tapas delights, including Caramelized Cauliflower with shabu shabu and Gambas Pil Pil featuring Tiger prawns with chilli and garlic oil, all garnished with fresh parsley.
World Fireworks Championship
Krystina and her family travelled to Blackpool for a spectacular evening of fireworks at the World Fireworks Championship, featuring India’s entrancing display crafted by the renowned Azan Morani. While in Blackpool, they couldn’t resist a classic seaside treat – fish and chips. Fresh from the Fleetwood Fish market, their meal at Bisham and Cleveleys Kitchens was a true coastal delight.
