This past bank holiday weekend was no exception, as Jodie, Josh, Craig, Jenni and Phie set out to explore some fantastic venues and soak up the vibrant atmosphere of different cities. Jodie made her way to the Nags Head, where she savoured some of the most delicious food and drinks. Craig explored the beautiful countryside setting of The Freemasons at Wiswell, a charming pub that exudes old-world charm and character. Meanwhile, Phie discovered the many hidden gems and cultural delights of Liverpool.
The Ivy, York
Jodie, our Head of Hospitality here at Ginger, had an unforgettable experience at The Ivy in York this past weekend. She had the privilege of dining in the private dining room, which was simply stunning. The room’s elegant decor and ambiance set the perfect tone for a luxurious and intimate dining experience. The service was impeccable, with the attentive staff catering to Jodie’s every need. The food was equally impressive, with a wide range of dishes that tasted as good as they looked. Overall, Jodie was thoroughly impressed by The Ivy and highly recommends it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
Nag’s Head
Jodie had a fantastic time on Sunday afternoon at Nag’s Head in Askham Bryan. She enjoyed a beautiful walk in the stunning Yorkshire countryside before arriving at the pub. Once there, she was treated to some proper home-cooked pub food that hit the spot perfectly. What made the experience even better was the warm hospitality and exceptional service provided by Karen and Kim. Despite a group of 20, they looked after everyone with great care and attention. Jodie left feeling satisfied and impressed with what a great pub you have, Jade!
The Freemasons at Wiswel

Craig, our Hospitality Team Manager, enjoyed a wonderful Sunday lunch at The Freemasons at Wiswell. The charming pub, located in the picturesque countryside setting of The Ribble Valley, was the perfect place to relax and unwind over a delicious meal. Craig, as always, was impressed with the high quality of the food, which was both creative and comforting, alongside the staff’s attentive service. Overall, Craig had a delightful time at The Freemasons at Wiswell and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional Sunday lunch experience.
Home Chinese, Manchester
Josh, one of our Recruitment Consultants, had a great time on his spontaneous visit to Manchester and stumbled upon the Home Chinese restaurant in the gay village. He was particularly impressed with their wine selection, finding it to be of high quality and perfectly complementing the flavours of the dishes he ordered. The restaurant’s relaxed and welcoming atmosphere made it an enjoyable place to spend his evening. Josh had a great experience at Home Chinese, and recommends the Crispy Duck to anyone planning a visit there.
Liverpool Euro Festival
Phie, our Digital Marketing Apprentice, had a fantastic time exploring Liverpool over the weekend. She visited some of the city’s most iconic landmarks, including the Royal Albert Dock and Pier Head. She was particularly excited to see the Eurovision celebrations that were taking place across Liverpool from the 1st – 14th of May. The “Floating Earth” installation by Luke Jerram, located at the Albert Dock, which celebrates the world coming together and the message of Eurovision – “united by music” was one of Phie’s favourite installations. She also enjoyed the Soloveiko Songbird Trail, which features twelve Soloveiko birds from different regions of Ukraine, each playing different songs. Overall, Phie had a wonderful time immersing herself in Liverpool’s vibrant culture and festivities.
Shaw Hill Golf Club
Jenni, a Recruitment Consultant here at Ginger, had an amazing time at Shaw Hill Golf Club, where she enjoyed a delightful afternoon tea in the club’s newly refurbished space. The ambience was warm and inviting, providing the perfect backdrop for the scrumptious treats that awaited her. From delicate finger sandwiches to freshly baked scones and sweet treats, the afternoon tea was a feast for the senses. Jenni was thoroughly impressed by the quality of the food and the attentive service provided by the staff. Overall, it was a lovely experience, and she would highly recommend Shaw Hill Golf Club to anyone looking for a luxurious afternoon tea in a beautiful setting.
The Black Bull at Langho
Ben Clarke, another of our Recruitment Consultants, had a great time at The Black Bull at Langho, where he went for a welcome back meal for Mrs. Clarke. The meal started with a delicious sharing plate of nachos, which everyone enjoyed. For the main course, they had a variety of dishes, including a spicy chicken burger, chicken schnitzel, and classic fish and chips for the children. The food was tasty and satisfying, with generous portions that left everyone feeling full and content. The warm and welcoming atmosphere of the pub only added to the enjoyment of the evening, making it a perfect choice for a casual meal out with friends and family.
