Another exciting weekend has passed, and our Where Ginger Goes team members were out and about, making the most of their time. From delightful lunches at charming inns to birthday celebrations filled with delectable treats, here’s a peek into our weekend adventures.
Craig, Inn at Whitewell
Craig indulged in a delightful family lunch at the renowned Inn at Whitewell. The menu offered a tantalizing array of options, including local Grouse Terrene and half-shell Queenie Scallops. Craig opted for a refreshing Mozzarella and heritage tomatoes salad, complete with lettuce, balsamic dressing, herb oil, and olive focaccia bread. It was the perfect way to spend a beautiful day with loved ones.
Josh, Mitton Hall
Last week marked Josh’s birthday, and he celebrated in style with friends at Mitton Hall. Afternoon tea was the order of the day, featuring a delectable spread that catered to every palate. From Coronation Chicken Wraps to Honey-Glazed Wholegrain Mustard Chipolatas, the options were diverse and delicious. To satisfy their sweet tooth, they enjoyed a selection of mouth watering desserts, including Chocolate & Hazelnut Rocher and Coconut & Strawberry Flapjack.

Josh, The Freemasons at Wiswell & Eagle in Barrow
Josh continued his weekend adventures with a leisurely dog walk that included pit stops at The Freemasons in Wiswell and the Eagle in Barrow. These boozy breaks and snack sessions added a delightful twist to the day’s activities, making the dog walk even more enjoyable.

Jodie, The Shed
Jodie had an unforgettable Friday night at The Shed in Ribchester, where fine wines flowed, and scrumptious sharing boards took centre stage. The evening was infused with music and dancing, thanks to the soulful tunes of Arthur Geldard, ensuring everyone had a fantastic time.

Jodie, Bowland Wild Boar Park
Jodie’s Sunday was a more tranquil affair, as she spent it at Bowland Wild Boar Park. From Alpacas to Water Buffalo, she encountered a fascinating array of wildlife and even had the chance to feed the friendly goats. The park also offered tractor-pulled trailer rides, providing an excellent way to explore the grounds and see all the animals up close.

Ben, Dog Walking
Ben embraced the occasional bursts of sunshine over the weekend with scenic dog walks. Venturing up Pendle Hill rewarded him with breath taking panoramic views, while a stroll around the stunning Stonyhurst estate offered a serene escape amidst 1000 acres of picturesque countryside.

Ben, The Higher Buck
After all those invigorating dog walks, Ben treated himself to a delicious meal at the Higher Buck in Waddington. This acclaimed gastro pub, recognized among the ‘Top 50 Gastro Pubs,’ continued to impress with its freshly prepared dishes featuring locally sourced ingredients. Ben’s choice, the Crispy Duck & Chorizo Salad with smoked bacon, pickled cucumber, and hoisin sauce, left him delighted. The pub’s warm and friendly service added to the overall enjoyable experience.
As we wrap up this weekend’s adventures from our Where Ginger Goes team members, it’s evident that each moment was filled with great company and even better food. From scenic walks and dog-friendly pit stops to birthday celebrations and evenings filled with live music, our team knows how to make the most of their free time.
