Our team had an amazing time exploring various venues throughout the UK, and we’re thrilled to share our experiences with you. Jodie enjoyed the sun at Zinc in Abersoch, Josh savoured stunning sea views and traditional British pub grub at The Davenport Inn in Kingsand, while Krystina spent time with her children visiting the adorable animals and exploring the best of the British countryside at Mrs Dowson’s Farm Park. Zinc, Abersoch
Jodie’s spending the week in Abersoch this week, soaking up the sunshine and indulging in all the delicious food this coastal town has to offer (We’re jealous). Jodie started her Saturday morning with breakfast at Zinc. Enjoying avocado on Toast on the terrace with a spectacular panoramic view of the harbour, we can’t think of a better way to kick off the bank holiday weekend.
St Tudwals Inn, Abersoch
On Sunday, Jodie enjoyed a pub lunch at the brilliant St Tudwals Inn. St Tudwals is a classic pub in Abersoch, having served people for the last 150 years, it’s known by locals for serving some of the best home cooked food in the area, freshly prepared by Ben, their Head Chef. Offering an easy-going, casual dining experience, this Inn is definitely one to visit if you’re visiting Abersoch.
The Davenport Inn, Kingsand
Josh, an avid sailor of the Ginger team, spent the weekend in Cornwall tending to his boat. On the Saturday evening, after a long day on the sea, he took refuge in the local Davenport Inn. Starting his meal with Mackerel, he then opted for a Sunday Roast, and finishing themeal with a sticky toffee pudding. This all sounds and looks absolutely divine, Josh! The hosts of The Davenport Inn, Dawn and Jerome, offer a mix of Old English Classics and Modern dishes. Jerome hails from the Lorraine region of Northern France, mixing his French heritage with the best Cornish produce. He joins the local fisherman daily, bringing in the fresh seafood to serve at the restaurant.
Mrs Dowson’s Farm Park
Krystina took her family to Mrs Dowson’s Farm Park on Saturday, enjoying lunch in their restaurant, followed by a cone of their famous ice cream. Mrs Dowson’s is situated in the Ribble Valley, and offers family days out suitable for the whole family. They offer activities such as bottle feeding the lambs, walking with wallabies and handling the small rabbits on the farm. The farm was a perfect day out for Krystina and her children, who thoroughly enjoyed the whole day, with their favourite part being the baby goats.
The Assheton Arms
Paige experienced a lovely meal at The Assheton Arms this weekend, particularly enjoying the Apple and Rhubarb Crumble. The Assheton arms, situated in the quiet village of Downham in the Ribble Valley, has become a favourite of team Ginger’s. We’re extremely lucky to be so local to such awelcoming, cosy country pub. The staff always go above and beyond, and the food never disappoints.
The Glasshouse, Ribchester
Robyn spent her Saturday enjoying lunch at The Glasshouse in Ribchester. The Glasshouse is full of character, with the indoor dining area housed inside a 45 year old greenhouse, brimming with Mediterranean plants and grape vines. Robyn opted for sandwiches in the sunshine, taking advantage of their vast outdoor dining, overlooking their gorgeous cottage gardens. The Glasshouse has a great reputation for serving fantastic food as well as having some of the best customer service around. We’d definitely recommend a visit if you’re local.
Craig’s Coronation Celebrations
Lastly, it wouldn’t be right to finish this week’s blog without a mention of some of the Coronation celebrations that the Ginger team took part in this weekend. Craig held a House Party for close family and friends on Saturday, celebrating the Coronation in style and paying tribute to the new King. Craig and his family tucked into some lovely food and drink, enjoying the sunshine whilst it lasted. It sounds like lots of fun and we hope you had a wonderful time, Craig!
