These aren’t just dates in the diary; they’re opportunities to connect, celebrate, and experience everything that makes our region so special. Whether it’s enjoying world-class music, indulging in the rich food heritage of Lancashire, or exploring centuries-old traditions, these events bring people together and showcase the very best of our county. Here’s what we’re looking forward to this year.

Grand National Festival

(April 3–5)

The Grand National Festival at Aintree is a local institution, steeped in history and bursting with excitement. First run in 1839, the Grand National is more than just a race—it’s a global event with a uniquely British charm. Watching the horses navigate the legendary five-mile course and its 30 jumps is a thrilling experience, whether you’re a racing enthusiast or simply enjoy the spectacle.

The atmosphere is electric, and it’s the perfect occasion to enjoy with family, friends, or even colleagues. For those looking to make it extra special, the hospitality packages on offer include exquisite dining and private viewing areas, ensuring a day of comfort, luxury, and unforgettable moments.

Southport Food and Drink Festival

(May 30–June 1)

If you love food as much as we do, the Southport Food and Drink Festival is a must-visit. Held in the picturesque Victoria Park, this free event is a celebration of culinary delights from Lancashire and beyond. From gourmet street food to artisan treats, there’s something to tempt every taste bud.

It’s not just about the food—live entertainment and a buzzing atmosphere make this the perfect setting for a day out with family or friends. Whether you’re indulging in spicy curries, creamy ice cream, or a classic Lancashire pie, it’s all about relaxing, enjoying, and savouring the flavours of the region.

Lytham Festival

(July 2–6)

Lytham Festival is one of Lancashire’s biggest highlights, and for good reason. Set on the stunning Lytham Green, this five-night music extravaganza draws tens of thousands of fans every year. The 2025 line-up is impressive, with headliners like Alanis Morissette, Justin Timberlake, and Simple Minds already announced.

The festival isn’t just about the music—it’s an experience. From pre-concert drinks to gourmet food stalls, there’s plenty to enjoy before the headliners hit the stage. For those wanting an extra-special experience, The Garden Package offers front-stage access, private bars, and premium facilities. It’s the ultimate way to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the music in style.

Beat-Herder Festival

(July 17–20)

There’s nothing quite like Beat-Herder. This quirky and creative festival in Gisburn has grown from humble beginnings into one of the most unique events in the UK. With 16 music areas, fairgrounds, and a host of bars and stalls, it’s a playground of sights, sounds, and experiences.

For 2025, new luxury glamping options, including pre-pitched tents and bell tents, make it easier than ever to enjoy the festival in comfort. Whether you’re dancing under the stars or exploring the creative installations, Beat-Herder is all about letting loose and having fun in true Lancashire style.

Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show

(July 18–20)

As one of the oldest agricultural shows in the country, the Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show is a celebration of tradition and community. Held at Salesbury Hall near Ribchester, it’s right on our doorstep, and we couldn’t be more excited to attend.

From showjumping and trade stands to the bustling food hall and lifestyle exhibits, there’s so much to see and do. Whether you’re passionate about agriculture or simply looking for a fun family day out, this show offers something for everyone.

Clitheroe Food Festival

(August, Date TBC)

The Clitheroe Food Festival is a real gem in the Lancashire event calendar. Bringing around 20,000 food lovers to the charming market town each year, it’s a feast for all the senses.

Championing local producers, the festival offers everything from traditional Lancashire meats to artisan dairy products, handmade pies, and fresh produce. It’s also a fantastic day for the whole family, with live music, cooking demonstrations, and activities for kids.

For us, these events are more than just great days out—they’re about celebrating the heart of Lancashire and strengthening the connections within our local community. From the thrill of the Grand National to the creativity of Beat-Herder and the flavours of Clitheroe, 2025 is shaping up to be a year of unforgettable experiences.
